The word pinto in Spanish means painted. Pinto and black turtle beans are the main Mexican food beans and make good salsa, burritos, tostadas, tacos, tamale pies, soups, and salads. Pintos are used in the classic Italian soup, Pasta Fagioli. No salt added.
